The San Diego Fact Check is inspired by the highly successful Politifact run by the St. Petersburg Times in Florida.
We have adapted many of PolitiFact’s ideas but decided not to focus solely on politics. Instead we aim to subject statements of fact from all sectors to an analysis and then determine which of the following categories best fit them:
