Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 | I am a Republican. I do not believe that local party leaders (?) should to try to remove Aguirre. He was duly elected (which is more than we can say for the former pension board members). Roger Hedgecock cited other elected members of city government (Donna Frye, et al.) who are supported financially by their staff’s legal donations at campaign time. We have enough problems going on in our own party. This attack is a distraction and does not help clean things up. The U-T is losing credibility because their campaign to destroy Aguirre has become so obvious.

Aguirre stirs the pot. We need that in San Diego. The citizens are paying attention to our local leaders, and that has not happened in a long time.
